Somewhere between the winding roads and rolling vineyards of the central coast, an idea took shape—rooted in connection, passion, and a little friend-fueled inspiration.
This practice was built on warmth, authenticity, and a deep belief in the power of being seen. We are a team of clinicians who root for one another and for the people we serve, creating a dynamic where healing is both a refuge and a revolution. This is a place for those who have felt unseen, unheard, or out of place—a practice that believes in advocacy as much as introspection, in breaking old narratives as much as building new ones. We believe in meeting you where you are, with curiosity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to your growth.
Vanessa Sedano
Hey, I’m Vanessa Sedano—founder of Sage Spaces, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and bilingual(ish) psychotherapist and coach based in Long Beach, CA.
My work is about creating a space where you can exhale—a place for deep self-exploration, where old narratives get questioned, and healing feels less like a rigid process and more like coming home to yourself. I believe in the power of unlearning just as much as learning, especially when it comes to generational beliefs, identity, and the privileges (or lack thereof) that shape how we move through the world.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across different communities and levels of care, each experience deepening my understanding of what it means to truly hold space for someone. My own journey—where I come from, what I’ve lived, and what I continue to unpack—shapes the way I show up in this work. Culture and identity aren’t just checkboxes; they’re the lens through which we see, heal, and grow.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a first-gen Mexican-American who thrives on a perfectly curated playlist, a well-organized spreadsheet, and a glass of good wine. My happy places? A clean home filled with plants, coffee-fueled conversations with friends, and a tent tucked away in the woods. There’s something about nature—the stillness, the simplicity—that quiets my mind and reminds me to just be.
If any of this resonates, let’s connect.

VALENTINA MATOSIAN
Hi, I’m Valentina (she/her), an Armenian-American Associate Clinical Social Worker and coach based in Los Angeles. My work centers on helping people feel more alive, connected, and free—especially when it comes to intimacy and sexuality. I support clients as they unpack shame, dismantle inherited beliefs, and move through trauma—including religious or cultural wounds that have shaped how they experience pleasure, safety, and self-expression. Whether you’re navigating desire, healing from sexual trauma, or just yearning to feel more like yourself, I’m here to walk with you.
My therapeutic style is eclectic, trauma-informed, and deeply relational. I draw from a psychodynamic and strength-based foundation, weaving in mindfulness, somatic practices, and neurobiology to help clients reconnect with their bodies and inner wisdom.
My own cultural and mental healthy experiences—such as living in chronic pain—have shaped the way I practice and teach. I lead yoga and meditation classes designed for folks with chronic pain, creating gentle, non-performative spaces for rest and embodiment. I believe healing happens in stillness and in movement, in laughter and grief, in softness and in fire.
Outside of work, I find joy in dancing with abandon, all the shades of blue, meditating, watching French New Wave films, and sunbathing as an act of resistance. Nature walks and animals refill my spirit, and if we meet online, there’s a good chance you’ll see my cat Salsa wander across the screen—she tends to show up for the good stuff.

TRANSFORMATIVE
Healing here isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about deep shifts. This is a space to untangle old patterns and step into a version of yourself that feels freer and more aligned.
AUTHENTIC
This practice is raw, and rooted in honesty—built on real, honest connection—no pretense, just a space where you can show up exactly as you are.
UNIQUE
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. This practice blends intuition, science, and a little bit of soul to create a process that fits you, not the other way around.
